In this case, you don’t need to worry about matching the IP address or having and conflicts. If your network or router features a DHCP server, it means the router will self-assign a valid IP address to the device. Make sure to use a unique IP address, thus avoiding any IP conflicts. The IP address of the camera or device needs to be modified in order to match your network. The camera is activated during the first run and it requires you to create a default password. The default IP address for Axis cameras and other Axis security devices is 192.168.0.90 with subnet mask 255.255.255.0.

If the password for root is lost, the Axis camera must be reset to the factory default settings (using the reset button). The default administrator user name root is permanent and cannot be deleted. username: root and password: pass (most commonly used password).

However, you may try two Axis default passwords that were used on their previous product line. In other words, the new Axis cameras don’t have a default password, you need to create one.

This is done in the Configure Root Password dialog, which opens when the product is accessed for the first time. To access the Axis IP camera (or other devices), you must set the password for the default administrator user root.
